Wednesday rides resume!

Ride Restrictions: No RSVP necessary for this ride.

Please have a mask to wear when we congregate Also The Park District may have additional restrictions.

Moderate pace: 13-15 mph rolling

The weather looks to be quite nice in the mid to upper 70s, and sunny.

Departing Chandler 8:30 for this "peddle, then paddle adventure." Lake Opeka is part of the Des Plaines Park District and offers many outdoor amenities. A great little oasis in the middle of a busy suburban area. There is a small concession area. and the menu there is very limited- hot dogs, pizza, snacks, beverages, and sometimes ice cream bars. In the past they have run out of items so I suggest you bring a sandwich/snack just in case.

The group will decide how much time to spend at the park depending on the interest. Given Covid-19 I think it would be wise to limit water boating to a brief kayak rental/ run because it is a single occupant kayak.

Distance is about 32 miles RT. . Probably will return around 2-2:30 depending on how long we stay at the Lake,

I would suggest bring water, sunscreen, wide brimmed hat and some money for kayak rental if you want to partake.

I do not have a RWGPS route/map, so be so advised if one wants to return early.
