Tuesday Moderate Ride – November 16th – 9:00 AM – Panera
The weather forecast for Tuesday is certainly an improvement on the grim weather we’ve had this weekend. A mixture of sunshine and clouds is expected with a high temperature of 53 degrees and only 7 percent chance of precipitation. The overnight low temperature Monday night, however, is expected to be 33 degrees, so we can probably expect a cool start to our ride. The wind will be from the SE at 10 to 20 mph.
In order to benefit from the wind on our return trip we will be riding south to Forest Park for lunch at Lathrop House. This is the restaurant that replaced Blue Max Coffee; we visited it earlier this Summer. Since the North Branch Trail is likely to have lots of leaves, branches, and other detritus, we will be using a street route. Here is a link to my route: Bike Route Planner - Ride with GPS, Our total distance will be around 43 miles.
I will be riding at a moderate 13 to 15 mph pace. With enough interest, there will another slightly faster group led by Will.
If the weather should be vastly different from what is expected making it prudent to cancel the ride, I will post an announcement to the listserv before 8:00 AM.
