I wanted to add a note to the Mod. ride Friday, I'd like to change the route north to take in some of Forest Preserve trail to the Chicago Botanical Garden. I rode the piece: Chandler, Green Bay, Willow Road up to the South entrance gate today, TH., and it was lovely to be on a trail, not a road. Tomorrow let's head north via Green Bay, west on Willow, up the trail into the Botanical Garden, stopping at the research center to look at asters and other flowers; then we head East on Lake Cook Rd. to St. John's, Ravinia Train Station and north. We'll head north to Highwood or Lake Forest after that. Return by usual route on Sheridan, Green Bay.
Pace: Moderate. (Note that Dave Barish is leading a Panera to Panera on Sat., 10/1, that gives riders more chance for speed on roads, no doubt.)
