Tuesday Moderate Ride on Hiatus
Today’s ride (11/29) is the last of the scheduled Tuesday moderate rides for this season. The rides will resume in mid-March or early April --- TBD. During the winter months do not expect a Tuesday moderate ride unless one has specifically been announced. Generally speaking, I will ride if: 1) The temperature is above freezing or reasonably expected to get above freezing at some point early in the ride; 2) The roads are reasonably clear of ice, slush, and other such unpleasant substances; 3) Nothing cold or wet is falling from the sky or reasonably expected to do so at some point in the course of the ride. In most instances I will post rides on Monday morning rather than Sunday evening, in hopes of getting a better read on the expected weather. There may be occasions when all of the above criteria are met, and I might elect not to ride if: 1) There is good cross-country skiing within 50 miles of my Evanston home: or 2) I am up to my eyeballs in a long-delayed home improvement project. If you want to ride, and I have failed to post a ride, feel free to post a ride of your own.
