Join me in supporting C.A.R.E. (Community Animal Rescue Effort) in their inaugural Pedal for Pets Ride this Sunday, August 18. The ride starts at their Adoption Center at 4927 Main St. in Skokie. Registration is $35 for individuals and $50 for families. You can register online until the 17th, or you can register on-site. Here's a link for more info:

The 25-mile ride starts at 8:30 AM. I will be there by 8:15 with a sign-in sheet. I'm planning on riding the 25-miler at a high casual/low moderate pace (11-13 mph), but you can ride it at any pace.
The ride goes rain or shine, and as of now there's a 20-percent chance of showers. I'll post to the listserve by 7:15 if I'm not riding because of rain.
