Sat June 25, Remote: Outing and Bike Tour of Pullm...
Joanne Davis

Outing /bike tour of Pullman National Monument, and Historic Pullman Foundation,

Meet at Pullman National Monument Visitor Center /Administration Clock Tower at 9:00 am

The town of Pullman (1880-1898) was designed and built as a total planned community to attract the most skilled workforce and to insulate Pullman’s workers and their families from the social ills which plagued industrializing cities across the US. Pullman provided an orderly, efficient and beautiful place which included housing and community facilities, all superior to that available elsewhere.

Pullman’s social experiment in industrial order and community planning has played a significant international role in urban planning, rail transportation and labor history.

Not only will we tour the town of Pullman, but will also view the Pullman murals, and head north to 104th Street passing by the National A. Phillip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum, and old Wheelworks (now apartments). Lots of history, lots of fascinating sites.

Come and join us! An official Tour guide Ron Rodriguez (a former member of EBC) will bike/escort us and share the breadth of his knowledge.
