Tuesday Moderate Ride – May 14th – 9:00 AM –
Panera
This week we are scheduled to ride to one of the oldest
windmills in Illinois located at the Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst. Lunch
will be at Al and Joe’s Deli, a unique neighborhood sandwich shop located in Franklin
Park.
Here is a link to the route we will more or less be using: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21065632. I do, however, intend to use the North Branch
Trail rather than the street route to Norwood Park at the beginning of the
ride.
A few consumer warnings are in order for this ride. We will
be on some busier streets than usual for Tuesday rides. The route does pass
through the scenically challenged industrial area of Franklin Park, and the
odds of being delayed by a freight train are excellent.
The temperature will be around 53 when we start and will
climb to a high of 65 degrees. The wind will be a relatively gentle 7 mph out
of the SSW. There is only a 10% chance of rain, and there is even a chance that
the sun will put in an appearance.
