It's my understanding that the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees are currently blooming in a spectacular fashion at the Columbia Basin and Wooded Island in Hyde Park and need to be viewed before the petals fall. Since this ride is early in the riding season I thought that 16 miles one way (34 RT) would be a kinder, shorter ride than departing from Chandler. Free parking is available at few locations along the lakefront and I have identified what I consider a good departure area in and around 600-650 West Montrose Avenue, which is EAST of Lake Shore Drive. There is a nearby rest stop- bathroom facility.
Departure at 9 AM. Please bring a snack or sandwich as I don't know where or when the food stop will be.
Ride will be limited to 10-12 folks so pleases give me a RSVP. Pace probably low end of moderate.
At the present time the weather shows temps low 60s, partly cloudy, minimal chance of rain.
I may make a wrong turn or two.....
Please look at the link below, and the accompanying picture to orient yourself to the parking area with the red pin.
