And they are off! The Silk Road Mountain Race started yesterday. As I'm writing this, it's already heating up to become an exciting race, with the top-three riders just a few kilometers apart as they traverse the inhospitable mountains of Kyrgyzstan. In 9th overall, and first woman, is Meaghan Hackinen.
Just before the start, Meaghan posted a video where she goes through her bike and every piece of equipment she carries. Find out why she switched from flat to drop bars for the Silk Road, and marvel at how neatly everything she carries fits onto her bike.
We've also got an update from Sofiane. We've all been worried when his tracker stopped moving in the middle of nowhere, after crossing the border into China. Sofiane is fine, it's just his tracker that isn't, for reasons unknown.
