Tuesday Moderate Ride – September 30th – 9:00 AM – Panera
I’m going to try again this week to do the twelve mile “loop” that is used to turn the NSC 50-mile route into a 62-mile route. We’ll take a direct route to Northcroft Park in Lake Forest. After completing the “loop,” rather than carrying on with the route, we will go to lunch and then headed for home.
I’m not going to prepare a Ride with GPS route for this week’s ride. We’ll take the Skokie Valley Trail to Northcroft Park; most of us know the way. The NSC markings on the “loop” may have faded some but should still be visible. If necessary, we can follow the NSC 62-mile route: NSC25 62 (50+12) · Ride with GPS. Lunch will be at Jersey Mike’s in Bannockburn. Following lunch, we’ll return to Wilmette by way of Ridge and Forest Way, etc. Again. most of us know the way. I’m estimating that our total distance will be somewhere around 42 to 45 miles.
This week the weather looks excellent: Generally sunny and warm, with a high temperature of 77 degrees and winds from the NE at 10 to 15 mph.
