Tuesday Moderate Ride – February 6th – 10 AM – Panera
Tuesday looks like a reasonably good day for a bike ride – a mix of clouds and sunshine with a high temperature of 43 degrees and light and variable winds. I’m planning to lead a ride to Greek Feast. The route I’ll be using will be something like this Riverwoods route -- RiverwoodsGrkFeast · Ride with GPS. We’ll use Heller Nature Center or CVS rather than Northcroft Park as our rest stop, and once I reach Saunders Road at mile 19, I intend to stay on Saunders/Sanders until the turn at Commercial. I will in other words be bypassing the wooded subdivisions of Riverwoods. This will shorten the route by about five miles. Our total distance will be around 35 miles.
Please note the 10 AM start time. This has a number of advantages. It should be a bit warmer by 10 AM than at our traditional start time. Depending on our timing, we might be able to use the Heller Nature Center as a Tuesday rest stop for the first time in a long time. Those of you who are not early risers, might consider a 10 AM starting time to be more civilized.
If tomorrow’s weather should be vastly different than predicted making it prudent to cancel the ride, I will post an announcement to the listserv before 8:30 AM.
