For our opening Mod. Monday ride, we meet 4/22, Earth Day, at Panera Wilmette at 9 am and head north to Lake Forest via the Chicago Botanic Garden. We plan to stop, lock bikes, and walk a short loop to view their garden's flowering trees and bulbs (est. time 40 min.). Continuing N, we cross Lake Cook Rd., Hastings to Clavey Rd., following the Clavey bike lanes West to Skokie Valley Trail N, exit at Old Elm, and meander N/E to Hometown Coffee, Lake Forest. Return along Lake Ave., McCormick Rd., McClory trail, through Fort Sheridan, Sheridan and Green Bay Rds. Rest stops: Botanic Garden (North), and Ravinia Train Station (South).
