Tuesday Moderate Ride is a Go with Possible Modifications
This is one of those mornings that I dread as a ride leader. Contradictory weather forecasts. All agree that it will rain sometime today, but exactly when is all over the place. Most predict that the rain will hold off until 1:00 PM at the earliest and possibly as late as 5:00 PM, but one predicts a 51% chance of a passing shower at 10 AM. The National Weather Service thinks the rain will hold off until 4:00 PM.
I’m planning to ride. At our first rest stop, Moraine Park, we can check weather forecasts and turn back if that seems prudent. We can check again at lunch at Panera in Lake Bluff. If necessary, we can head back directly from there. Another option would be to forgo the trail to nowhere on the trip back to Wilmette and just head up Clavey to Green Bay Road. Lots of options, but no guarantee that we won’t get wet.
