Forest Home Cemetery Ride
Author Last Post
It has come to my attention that I left some important information out of the announcement for the Forest Home ride. We will be leaving from Panera in Wilmette at 9:00 AM
This Sunday I'll be leading a 45 mile moderate ride (13 - 15 mph) to Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park. We'll take a slow turn through the cemetery stopping to look at the Haymarket Monument, Emma Goldman's Grave, and the famed Dissenter's Row. We'll also take a look at a monument erected by the United Ancient Order of the Druids.

Here is the route that I will mostly be following: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/7777262.

I am going to assume that some portion of the North Branch Trail between Beckwith and Devon is flooded unless I hear otherwise from someone who has ridden that section of trail since Thursday. Without such a report we will use an alternative street route not shown on the cue sheet.

Lunch will be at Russell's BBQ before we get to the cemetery.

Often when I announce rides people want to know when we are going to get back. I anticipate more such inquiries since Sunday is Mother's Day. The only honest answer to that question is I don't know, probably sometime between 2 PM and 4 PM.
